Knott County Youth Center is a 24 acre community park located on a reclaimed strip mine site along the Daniel Boone Parkway. SABAK, WILSON & LINGO, INC. served as the landscape architects and civil engineers for this project. Working with the developer and architects we created an activity center for a new mixed use development in Knott County. The park includes a 60,000sf multi-purpose gymnasium, two (2) little league baseball fields, an adult baseball field and two (2) full size soccer fields. Our services included the designing of a diverse landscape and public plaza for the site. Prairie grasses and native red cedar trees were used in place of fencing to prevent loose soccer balls from rolling down the adjacent steep grades. Construction cost is estimated at $5 million. |
