LaRue County has only one public park that provides a broad range of recreational opportunities for its citizens. Since there are few other public recreation alternatives elsewhere in the county, it was important to keep the park facilities in good repair and up-to-date with health, safety and recreational standards. It is also important that the park facilities grow and change with the needs of the community.
SABAK, WILSON & LINGO, INC. served as the landscape architects for this project. Working with the county judge executive, Hodgenville City mayor, park manager, school board members, park user groups and Kenar Architectural we were able to prepare a park study that accomplished three objectives: Audit the condition of existing park facilities, Master plan for the short term recreational needs of the community, and Evaluate options for park expansion and long term growth. In addition to preparing the study, the firm also prepared a cost analysis for each recommended phase for future implementation.
The total projected cost for site improvements was $2.15 million. Professional services were completed in April 2006 and site work has not yet begun. |
